Security beefed up for Myanmar president visit
Gaya: Security arrangements have been tightened for Myanmar president U Htin Kyaw’s two-day visit to Bodh Gaya.
Accompanied by his wife Daw Su Su Lwin and a 31-member delegation that includes five ministers of the Republic of Myanmar, the visiting dignitary would reach Bodh Gaya on Saturday morning. He would be staying at a private hotel in Bodh Gaya.
Sources said the dignitary being a high-risk visitor, security arrangements have been tightened. The threat emanates from several terrorist and extremists organisations including the much-dreaded Indian Mujahedeen, the organization that engineered low intensity serial blasts in Bodh Gaya in July 2013.
The oppression of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar has enraged various terrorist outfits here. Though they do not have any organisation in India, IM is said to have picked up cudgels on behalf Myanmar Muslims.
